Papertrey Ink

New Release Countdown: Day 1

It's day 1 of the October release countdown for Papertrey Ink. I am so excited to share all of the amazing new products with you all. I know a few of your were asking when the release was going to be available, but there were some manufacturing issues and things got pushed back a little. The new release will be available for purchase on October 25 and I think you are going to Love it!!

My first card uses the new Build A Santa set. This set creates the most adorable Santa!! There are lots of dies and detail stamps included in this set. You can stamp on die cuts and layer the pieces onto the Santa body or you can stamp directly onto the Santa and keep everything flat. I actually did a little bit of both, though I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Once I stamped and assembled my Santa I added a little glitter to his hat, cuffs and coat. I then mounted my Santa onto an oval that had been die cut with the Nesting Basics Ovals die set from Aqua Mist cardstock and polka dot vellum. I attached these to a piece of Pure Poppy patterned paper and added a Stitched Frame to finish my card.

I love the size of this Santa. He fits perfectly onto an A2 card base but I also think he will make a super fun tag for Christmas presents.

My next card uses the new Ornate Evergreens dies. This set includes three dies that cut the most amazing evergreens. I love all of the detail!! I first ran the dies through my die cutting machine in shades of green cardstock. I then ran the dies through again with a piece of glittered cardstock. I kept the negative pieces in the glittered cardstock trees and then attached the two together for a layered look.

Next, I attached the tree to a card panel that had been ink blended with Blueberry Sky ink. I splattered the background along with the tree with a little paint and set it aside to dry. For my sentiment I issued the Just Sentiments: Santa stamp set. I stamped my sentiment onto a vellum snowbank and heat set it with gold embossing powder. I once again added a frame, though this time I used the Diagonal Border Frame die. Lastly, I added a few clear sequins and red jewels as a final touch.

Thanks for joining me today and I will be back tomorrow with day 2 of the countdown.

Enjoy your day,
