Helen and Harry the Hippos

Technique Tuesday

Hi Friends! There is a New Release coming to Technique Tuesday tomorrow, but I had one more card I wanted to share from the last release. For my card, I am using the Animal House Stamp and Die Set: Helen and Harry the Hippos. Theses Hippos are so cute and the sentiments are sure to make you smile!

I started my card by stamping the hippo and little bird from the Helen and Harry the Hippos Stamp Set with Memento black ink. I then colored my images with my Copic markers and used the Helen and Harry the Hippos Crafting Dies to die cut my images. I set these aside and began working on my card panel.

I die cut a basic stitched circle from vellum and used Wow: Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder for my sentiment. The sentiments in this set are so fun! I mounted my vellum circle onto a piece of aqua patterned paper and then attached my images with foam adhesive.

To finish my card, I mounted my focal circle onto a piece of rainbow patterned paper (Sunny Studio, Rainbow Bright and Polka dot Parade patterned paper pack) and mounted everything onto my A2 card base.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! You will definetly want to check out the latest release at Technique Tuesday...so many must have sets!
Enjoy your day,
Dana

Pretty Pink Posh

June 26, 2019

Hi Friends! I am stopping in today to share a fun card for Pretty Pink Posh. The latest release sold out very quickly... I know things were immediately reordered and the stamps and dies have been restocked. Hopefully you will be able to get everything on your list!

I needed a Graduation card for a party we are going to this weekend. So I thought the adorable flamingo could wear a graduation cap. What do you think? I say, why not?

I started my card by stamping the flamingo from the Tropical Birds Stamp Set and the graduation cap from the Congrats Grad Stamp Set with a Copic friendly ink. I colored my images with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

To create my card panel, I used the Tropical Background Stencil with Distress Oxide Ink in Cracked Pistachio. Next, I stamped my sentiment from the Congrats Grad stamp set in black ink. I trimmed my panel down to 3.25 x 4.5 inches. I then mounted my panel onto a piece of cement gray cardstock and attached my flamingo with foam adhesive.

To finish my card, I added a piece of black and white striped paper to the bottom of my top fold A2 card base. I then attached my card panel to the front of my card. Lastly, I added a few jewels from the Citrus Jewels Mix to my card front...every card needs a little sparkle.
I hope you enjoyed my card today. Please know that I read every comment and do my best to answer any questions too.

You're My Type

SugarPea Designs

June 25, 2019

Hi Friends! Today, I am playing along with the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge. I think this is the first time playing along with their challenge...you can use the inspiration photo, colors, and or sketch. This time I am just using the sketch for my inspiration.

Here is the challenge graphic:

I started my card by die cutting the adorable little typewriter from the SugarCut: You're My Type die set...isn't it just the cutest? I used the Color Crush Solids paper pack from The Stamp Market for all of my paper.

Next, I stamped Thank You from the You're My Type Stamp Set onto the typewriter paper die. I love how this set includes so many sentiments, perfect for so many occasions.

For my card design, I attached a piece of Rainbow paper from The Stamp Market Color Crush paper pack to the bottom of my card, using the sketch as my guide. I then attached a stitched circle to my card front and added my typewriter with foam adhesive. These dies are so fun to use and really do all of the work!

Enjoy your day,
Dana

Hello Beautiful

MFT Stamps

June 24, 2019

Happy Monday Friends! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I spent my weekend at home being productive. I am so excited to be going to Junkie Fest (stamp convention and classes) later this week, so I spent some time getting my supplies ready and organized. I hope to post a little in my Instagram stories each day if you would like to follow along.
Today, I am sharing a card for a few challenges at MFT Stamps. I combined both the Color Challenge and the Wednesday Sketch Challenge for my card.

I started my card by using the MFT Stamps Funky Florals stencil with Distress Oxide Ink in Picked Raspberry. I then used the MFT Stamps Stitched Edges dies to create my arch (following the sketch). I mounted this onto my polka dot embossed Limelight A2 card base.

Next, I die cut the MFT Stamps Beautiful word die from Steel Grey cardstock and white cardstock. I also, heat embossed Happy Birthday from the MFT Stamps Hello Beautiful Stamp Set. I then stamped and die cut my flowers from the MFT Stamps Bold Blooms set. Once again, using the colors and the sketch as my guide.

To finish my card, I attached a vellum circle behind my flowers and sentiment...this helped to "anchor" everything. Lastly, I added my sentiment and my flowers with foam adhesive to my card front.

Definitely a bright and summery card today.
Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your day,
Dana

I started my card by stamping my dragonflies from the Dreamy Dragonfly Stamp Set with VersaMark ink. Next, I heat set WOW! Primary Fuchsia FusionPrimary Lemon, and Primary Blue Topaz embossing powders. These colors are gorgeous and emboss like a dream!! I will admit...this is my first time using WOW! Embossing Powders, but I am hooked!! I will definitely be adding more colors to my collection.

Next, I used the Dragonfly DIY Crafting Dies to die cut my embossed dragonflies.

For my card design, I attached a piece of black and white polka dot patterned paper to the left side of my card. I stamped my sentiment onto my white panel and attached that to my card base. Lastly, I used foam adhesive to attach my dragonflies to my card front to finish my card. I just love the bright embossed dragonflies on the black and white card front...bright and summery!

For my second card, I used the same Dreamy Dragonfly Stamp Set.

I stamped the dragonflies onto kraft cardstock and heat set them with WOW! Blue Glitz Embossing Powder. I have never had very good luck with glitter embossing powder...it always seemed to melt too much. I have to say the WOW! embossing powder in glitter works great! I am thinking with a different sentiment this card would be perfect for the 4th of July.

To finish my card, I stamped my sentiment onto a Jam Jar Label and attached it to my card front.

Happy Hour

Pink & Main

June 22, 2019

Hi Crafty Friends! Today, I am on the Pink and Main Blog sharing a card for the New Release. I am using the Fun stamp set called Happy Hour.

I started my card by creating my background. I stamped the festive cocktails in VersaMark ink and heat set the images with white embossing powder. I also added the sentiment Cheers! in a random pattern.

Next, I added Distress Oxide Ink to my card panel. I used a rainbow of colors: Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet. I love the way the embossing powder resists the ink...such a fun technique.

For my sentiment, I die cut the smallest Reverse Scallop Rectangle Die in black and white cardstock. I stamped my sentiment onto the white inner frame piece and attached it to my card panel and added the black outer frame piece.

To finish my I trimmed down my card panel and attached it to my A2 card base.

Thanks for joining me today on the Pink and Main Blog!
Enjoy your day,
Dana

Lucky Duck

Lawn Fawn

June 21, 2019

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a Great week and are ready for another weekend! When I saw the new Lawn Fanatics Challenge, I knew I had to play along- Rainbows, my favorite!! I needed a card to send to a friend who had done something very nice for me (and it might of involved a handmade rainbow). If you follow me on Instagram you might of seen it...

So, I took the colors from the challenge:

And began making my card. I stamped the Mama Duck along with her little ducklings from the Rub-A-Dub stamp set. I colored them with Copic markers and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. They are so cute in their rainbow colors!

Next, I cut my card panel apart and attached a piece of gray paper from the Spring Fling paper pack in the center. I then stamped my sentiment across my card front and attached my row of ducks with foam adhesive.

I kept my card pretty clean and simple, with lots of white space (again). Thanks for stopping by today. I will be back tomorrow with another card for Pink and Main.
Enjoy your day,
Dana

Starfish Wishes

Pink & Main

June 20, 2019

Good Morning and Welcome! The New Release is available today at Pink and Main and you won't want to miss it!! I am so excited to be a Guest Designer this month...the stamps and dies being released are so fun and perfect for summer! Today, I am sharing a Bright and Summery card that uses the new Starfish Wishes stamp and die set.

For my card today, I started with my background. I used Distress Oxide Ink in Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet to create my background.

Next, I sprayed the back of the Mermaid Tail Stencil with Therm O Web Pixie Spray, which holds the stencil in place.

I added the same colors of Distress Oxide Ink back over my stencil creating a tone on tone finish.

To finish my background, I added Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel to my stencil to give my background some sparkle. Once this was dry, I trimmed down my panel and mounted it onto a soft gray cardstock mat.

Next, I stamped the seahorses from Starfish Wishes stamp set in a Copic friendly black ink. Aren't the seahorses just the cutest? I colored them with Copic markers and used the Coordinating Starfish Dies to cut them out.

For my sentiment, I used the Reverse Scallop Circle Dies. I stamped my sentiment on the inside piece of the frame and attached both pieces to my card front with foam adhesive. Lastly, I attached my seahorses to my card front and attached everything to my A2 card base.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and please stop by Pink and Main Blog to see all of the New Release...you won't want to miss it, and I have a feeling things might sell out quickly.

Thank you to all of you that take the time to comment, I truly appreciate it.
Enjoy your day,
Dana
