Technique Tuesday

October 31, 2018

Happy Halloween!! I know it is Halloween...and I am posting Christmas cards. I hope you don't mind!! I am so excited to share with you the New Release at Technique Tuesday. I think you will find something that you Love!! Today I have two cards using the new stamp and die set, Dani Deer. It is just the cutest!!

For my first card, I stamped and colored my deer with Copic Markers. I then used the Papertrey Ink, Mix & Mat Postal Die to cut out a vellum rectangle. I mounted this on a piece of Papertrey Ink, Pure Poppy Patterned Paper. Next, I stamped my sentiment on a kraft cardstock strip and attached it to my card front. To finish my card I stamped and cut out a few of the snowflakes that are included in the Dani Deer stamp set.

For my next card, I followed the same format of stamping, coloring, and die cutting my deer. This time I used the Close To My Heart Confetti Embossing Folder to give my background some added detail. Next, I used the MFT Stamps Stitched Rectangle Scollop Frame die to cut out a red polka frame in Pure Poppy. Then, I stamped my sentiment on a red banner and attached it under my frame. I used some foam adhesive to pop up my deer to finish my card.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today! Please stop by the Technique Tuesday Store and have a look at their new release- there is lots to Love!!

A Set of Fall Cards

October 29, 2018

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a Wonderful weekend!! I have a set of cards today that uses the PhotoPlay Fall Breeze stamp set and paper pad.

I began my cards by stamping the Fall Breeze Background on a piece of cardstock.

I used Canyon Clay and Terracotta Tile ink from Papertrey Ink for my stamping. Once I had my panels stamped I used the Papertrey Ink- Say It Simply: Giving Thanks die to cut my sentiment. I then layered my panel with coordinating cardstock to give it a mat (border) and help it stand out.

Next, I attached my card panel to some patterned paper from the PhotoPlay Fall Breeze 6x6 paper pad. This is a great paper pad for fall cards! The colors are perfect, the small prints work well for cards, and the paper is double sided.

My cards are very similar, just swapped out the patterned paper and ink colors. I also stacked my die cut (Giving Thanks For You) to give it some dimension.

For my next two cards I used the same stamp. But this time I used VersaMark ink and copper embossing powder to the stamped background.

I love the copper embossing on the Dark Indigo cardstock.

It is also very pretty on a neutral color. I stamped and embossed my sentiment too. My sentiments are from the Papertrey Ink: Autumn Pumpkins Stamp Set.

I once again layered my panel onto a cardstock mat and then onto the PhotoPlay patterned paper. I think this card set will make a perfect hostess gift! Do you enjoy making card sets? Do you use them for gifts?

Hello Bluebird

October 27, 2018

Happy Saturday!! I hope you are having a Wonderful weekend!! We are in San Diego today watching the Navy Vs. Notre Dame football game. I am not a football "fan" but it should be a fun day with some good friends!
Today, I have a card using a new to me stamp company Hello Bluebird Design. There images are just Adorable, and each set is packed full!! I bought a few sets the other day to give them a try and let me tell you...they are definitely a favorite!

I kept my card fairly simple. I started by using the Close To My Heart Confetti Embossing Folder for my snowy background. Next, I stamped, colored, and die cut my cute little image from the Hello Bluebird: Christmas Is Coming stamp set. Then, I used the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside Borders to create my snow/ground. To finish my card I stamped my sentiment in red ink and tied some Baker's Twine across the top.

Just look at all the stamps included with this set!! I can't wait to have some time to make a few more cards!

MFT Stamps

October 26, 2018

Hello Crafty Friends!! Today I have a Christmas card and tag on the Drive By Crafts blog using lots of products from MFT Stamps. I am mixing some new with some old, though all can be found in the Drive By Crafts shop!! I used the MFt Stamps Card Challenge for my card layout and inspiration.

Let's start with my card...I began by die cutting the My Favorite Things: Fa La La Die-namics from white cardstock. I then layered a piece of paper from the My Favorite Things: Candy Land Paper Pack behind my die cut. I then attached this piece to my card panel. Next, I stamped the cute little penguin from the My Favorite Things: Polar Pals Stamp Set. Once the penguin was colored and cut out I mounted it onto a piece of vellum. I stamped my sentiment (I used a portion of a sentiment from the Polar Pals set) and mounted it onto a few banners that would compliment my card colors. Lastly, I added a few snowflakes for accents and mounted my card panel onto an A2 card base.

Here is the Sketch:
For my tag, I followed the same format as above. I again used the MFT Stamps: Fa La La Die-namics. This time though I kept it in a 4x4 square, so I could make a tag. Once I had my tag base completed I used the My Favorite Things: Cooler With You Stamp Set to stamp my snowman. I colored my snowman with Copic markers, and then used the My Favorite Things: Cooler With You Die-namics to cut it out. I can't wait to tie this fun tag onto a Christmas gift!! Both this stamp and die set are on sale right now at the Drive By Crafts store...it is definitely one of my favorites!!

I hope you enjoyed my card and tag today. Please stop by the Drive By Crafts store and check out their amazing selection of MFT Stamps!!
Enjoy your weekend and Happy Friday,

Papertrey Ink: Blog Hop

October 25, 2018

Good Morning!! I hope you all are having a Wonderful day!! Today is a fun day at Papertrey Ink, it is their monthly Blog Hop. There are always so many great projects shared and lots of inspiration to be found. Stop by and have a look, you won't be disappointed!!
Here is my card for today:

Here is the Inspiration photo:

I began my card by focusing on the chalkboard. To be honest, I struggled with this and made lots of card fronts that ended up in the trash. Even on my finished card I wasn't completely happy with my embossing. My embossing wasn't clean, or if it was the chalk board "look" became messy.  I watched numerous videos, I even went and bought new embossing powder- definitely a technique I need to practice.
I started my card by cutting a piece of black cardstock with the Scallop Stackers Die. Then, I used my misti and stamped my images (sentiment from New Every Morning and branches from Autumn Pumpkins) with Versamark ink and embossed them with white embossing powder. Next, I used PTI: Fresh Snow ink and off set my stamping a little bit to give a shadow and help it look more realistic. Then, I took the Fresh Snow ink and smeared it around the edges and my sentiment to give the look of chalk dust. Finally, I took a white colored pencil and a ruler and outlined my center rectangle.

Once I had my chalkboard complete I used the outer edge of the stacker die and cut it from Ocean Tides cardstock. I mounted my two front panels together and attached them to a piece of Americana cardstock cut a little smaller than an A2 card. Next, I began my stamping... I used lots of sets for this part. The wheat is from the Give Thanks stamp set, the leaves and acorn are from the Autumn Acorns set, and the pumpkin is from the Autumn Pumpkins stamp set. Finally, I attached my stamped images to the bottom of my card front and attached everything to an A2 Kraft card base.

I will also be linking my card up to the Time Out Challenge today.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!! I can't wait to see what everyone create...

Nutty or Nice?

Lawn Fawn

October 24, 2018

Hello and Welcome! I hope you all are having a Wonderful day. Today, I have a Christmas card for the Lawn Fanatics challenge: Bling It Out.

I started my card with some dark blue glitter paper for my background. I used the MFT Stamps Snowfall die to cut out the falling snow. Next, I die cut the Lawn Fawn: Stitched Hillside Backdrop from white cardstock. Then, I began my stamping...I used the Lawn Fawn: Nutty or Nice (Stamptember) set for most of my images. The cute little birds on the branch are from the Lawn Fawn: Winter Sparrows set. Once everything was stamped, colored, and die cut I attached all of my images to my card front to create a Christmas scene.

Fusion Card Challenge

Happy Haunting

October 22, 2018

Are you ready for another new week? Where does the time go?? We had a Wonderful weekend, Morgan was home from college- Yeah!! Today, I have a card today for the Fusion Card Challenge.

I combined both the Sketch and the Photo for my card today. It was fun to use a "non-traditional" color palette for my Halloween card.

I started my card by adding a lot of water to my card panel. I then used Zig Clean Color Watercolor Pens to add color, being careful to just lightly add color. I wanted my colors to stay soft and pastel, like the photo. Once that was dry, I flicked some black reinker onto my panel. I set that aside to dry. Next, I stamped the BOO from Lil' Inkers You've Been Booed stamp set in pastel colors from Gina K Designs. I added my sentiment (also from the You've Been Booed stamp set) and some bats from the Lawn Fawn Haunted House Add On set.

Stamp Set: Lil' Inker Designs- You've Been Booed
Dies: Lil' Inker Designs- You've Been Booed, Lawn Fawn- Haunted House Add On

Case This Sketch

October 21, 2018

Happy Sunday! I hope you all are having a Wonderful weekend!! Morgan is home for a three day weekend-yeah!! I was a able to sneak in a little time to play along with the Case This Sketch Challenge. My pictures are a little dark because I finished my card last night...hope you don't mind.

Here is the sketch:

I started my card by using the Concord & 9th Deck The Halls Turnabout Stamp Set to create my background. I used red, green, kraft, and navy ink today. I love how these stamps work, someone is So smart!! Each time I turned my panel I changed my color of ink to create my background.

Once I had my background stamped, I trimmed it down to fit my A2 card base. Next, I added a strip of red cardstock across the top of my stamped panel. For my sentiment, I used the Papertrey Ink: Jingle All The Way stamp and die set.

Keeping it quick today!

Reverse Confetti: Triangle Trees

October 19, 2018

Hello crafty friends! I have two cards up on the Drive By Crafts Blog using the Reverse Confetti: Triangle Trees Stamp Set. My cards today are bright and cheery, just what Christmas is all about!

For my first card, I stamped my trees in colors (aqua, green and bright pink) that were used in the Doodlebug Design: Milk & Cookies 6x6 Paper Pad. Once I stamped my trees, I cut them out. The shape of the trees makes it really easy to cut them out by hand. Next, I added a piece of white cardstock down the middle of my patterned paper. I stamped my sentiment directly onto my middle panel and popped my trees up with American Crafts: Sticky Thumb Dimensional Adhesive. My card came together rather easily as the Fun stamps did all the work.

On my next card, I stamped my trees in Rainbow colors! Why not, right? I began by stamping the green and yellow trees first in the center of my panel. I used my My Sweet Petunia: Original MISTI to help line everything up and get a good impression. Next, I added the orange and aqua trees and went out from there completing my rainbow pattern. I added my sentiment to the center of my panel and once again mounted it on a piece of pattern paper from the Doodlebug Design: Milk & Cookies 6x6 Paper Pad. To finish my card, I added Doodlebug Design: Sprinkles in a variety of colors.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today!! I appreciate you stopping by and I will be back next Friday with two more Christmas cards- Tis' The Season!
