CASE This Sketch

February 28, 2019

Good Morning!! Can you believe February is already over? I have a busy next couple of months...lots of fun things to share! Today, I am a Guest Designer at the CASE This Sketch Challenge. I was so excited when I got the email asking me to participate!! CASE This Sketch has been a favorite challenge of mine for a long time, so it was definitely an honor to be chosen.

Here is the sketch:

I started my card by stamping the W Plus 9: Tossed Florals stamp set with a Copic friendly ink. I then colored the flowers with Copic Markers and used the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen to add glitter to the center of my flowers.

I cut my stamped image into a 2.75 inch square and mounted it onto a black piece of cardstock. Next, I used the Taylored Expressions: Corrugated Embossing Folder for my card panel. I ran it through my die cutting machine, giving my card front a little added detail. Lastly, I stamped my sentiment from the MFT Stamps: Essential Sentiments stamp set with VersaMark ink and heat set white embossing powder.

I hope you are able to play along with the sketch challenge this week!!
I can't wait to see what you all create!!

Hi Friends!! I am stopping by today to share a St. Patrick's Day using the Adorable Best Of Luck Stamp Set from Pretty Pink Posh.

For my card panel, I die cut the Storybook 1 Frame from my card center. Next, I used Distress Oxide Ink (Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Lucky Clover) to add color to my squares and rectangles. I also stamped my sentiment onto my bottom rectangle and heat set it with gold embossing powder at this time. Lastly, I inlaid all of my pieces back into my frame.

You Are My Rainbow...

February 24, 2019

Happy Sunday Friends!! I had a little time yesterday to create a card, so I decided to participate in a few challenges. I am combining both the CASE This Sketch Challenge and the Fusion Card Challenge with my card today.

I combined the sketch from the CASE This Sketch challenge with the Rainbow graphic from the Fusion challenge!
Here are the graphics:

I started my card by using the MFT Stamps: Cloud Stencil and Broken China Distress Oxide Ink to create my background. Next, I used the MFT Stamps: Stitched Rainbow and Cloud Edges Dies to create my rainbow scene.

Once I die cut my clouds I used the Waffle Flower: Rainbows Stamp Set for my sentiment. I attached my clouds to my card panel with foam adhesive and tucked my rainbow in behind the clouds.

Rainbows just make me happy...

Papertrey Ink

February 23, 2019

Happy Weekend! I hope you all have some fun plans this weekend and the weather cooperates!! We are suppose to be getting a break from all the rain we have been having...we need the rain so I hope it starts up again soon.
Anyways, today I have a card for the Papertrey Ink Win It Wednesday challenge. This week Laurie Schmidlin challenged us to use our favorite dies!! I had a hard time picking my favorite, but I definitely use the Edger dies by Dawn McVey the most so I went with that.

I started my card by stamping and die cutting my turtles from the Salt Air stamp and die set. (This was another set that had been on my wishlist since it was released and I was able to get during the sale). Next, I used Distress Oxide Ink and ink blended blues and greens onto a piece of cardstock. I then used the Reef Builder Dies to die cut my ocean plants.

For my card layout, I used the Round Off Edgers Dies to cut my curved edge on my card front. Next, I stamped my sentiment from the Salt Air Sentiments Mini Stamp Set. I then used the wavy edge and die cut a piece of New Leaf cardstock. I layered the two pieces together and attached them to my Tropical Teal patterned paper. Lastly, I added all of my stamped and die cut images to my A2 card base.

To finish my card I added a few clear sequins to my card front. On another note, I can't believe I waited so long to purchase this stamp set!! I love it!!

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: PTI- Salt Air Fauna, Salt Air Sentiments
Dies: PTI- Salt Air, Reef Builder, Round Off Edgers

Handpicked Bouquet

Altenew

February 22, 2019

Happy Friday Crafty Friends!! I hope you all had a Wonderful week...I am ready for the weekend! Today, I have a card  on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink using the Altenew: Handpicked Bouquet Stamp Set.

I started my card by creating my background. I used Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink. I blended my colors onto my card panel and then spritzed it with water. I also splattered a little water-downed white paint onto my background. I set my panel aside to dry and began working on my stamping.

For my floral image, I used the Gorgeous Handpicked Bouquet stamp set from Altenew...they really do make the most amazing flower stamp sets!! I stamped my flower image in greens, yellow and orange using my Original MISTI Tool to line everything up.

Next, I used the Handpicked Bouquet Dies to die cut my floral image. I trimmed down my ink blended background and stamped my sentiment from the Handpicked Bouquet stamp set. I attached my floral image with Foam Adhesive and added a few Pretty Pink Posh: Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish my card.

I hope I inspired you to stop by the Butterfly Reflections, Ink online store and check out all the Amazing flower sets from Altenew!

Sketch Challenge

February 21, 2019

Good Morning!! I have been busy the last few days creating cards and getting caught up with some exciting things that I will share soon!! Yesterday, I took a break and created a card just because...I had been wanting to use the MFT Stamps: Cutieasaurus stamp set again and the Sketch Challenge seemed like the perfect opportunity.

I started my card by stamping and coloring my images with Copic Markers. I then used the Cutieasaurus Dies to die cut all of my images.

For my card design, I followed the layout of the sketch.

I used the patterned paper from the Sweet Celebration Paper Pack. I mounted my patterned paper onto a piece of Sour Apple Cardstock for my vertical accent. For my horizontal paper I used Blue Raspberry cardstock. Next, I stamped my sentiment onto a Sour Apple banner and attached that to my card front. Lastly, I added my images with foam adhesive to complete my card.

February 18, 2019

Good Morning! I hope you all had a Wonderful weekend!! We had a nice relaxing weekend at home...just what we needed. Today, I have a card for Pretty Pink Posh using the Darling Dragonflies stamp set.

I started my card by stamping my dragonflies from the Darling Dragonflies stamp set with a Copic friendly ink. I then colored the dragonflies in rainbow colors using both a light and medium shade of each color. Next, I used the Darling Dragonflies Coordinating Dies to cut out my images.

For my card front, I used the Stacked Edges 1 die set. I cut out the wave design from my card front. I then cut out the same wave design from a piece of black and white polka dot patterned paper. I inlaid the black and white piece back into my card front to give a clean/flat design. Next, I used the Everyday Greetings stamp set for my sentiment.

To finish my card, I attached my dragonflies to my card front with foam adhesive. Lastly, I added jewels from the Party Jewels Mix to give my card a little "sparkle".

Papertrey Ink

February 17, 2019

Good Morning! Today, I have a set of cards for the Papertrey Ink: Win It Wednesday challenge. This is a new challenge to PTI and my first time playing along. Laurie Schmidlin is the host and this week she asked us to use our favorite PTI colored cardstock. My favorite cardstock...this definitely might change with the season, but today I am thinking Spring and choosing Aqua Mist.

Papertray Ink is having a sale right now, so I picked up a few stamps and dies that have been on my wishlist! It is a great time to shop!! I started my card by using the Frame It Out: Many Blessings Die. I die cut the wreath shape from a piece of white cardstock. I also bought the Gorgeous stamp set that coordinates with this die, though I love how you can use it alone too.

Next, I used the Penned Elegance stamp set to stamp my sentiment. The sentiments in this set are a beautiful script writing and they coordinate perfectly with the wreath. To finish my card, I attached my card panel to my A2 card base.

On these two cards, I used Mint Julep and Lilac Grace cardstock and ink. Such a quick and easy card to put together, but I am really happy with how they turned out. I will be making a few more with different sentiments as my card supply is getting low.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Papertrey Ink- Penned Elegance
Die: PTI- Frame It Out, Many Blessings
Paper: PTI- Aqua Mist, Mint Julep and Lilac Grace
Ink: PTI

Enjoy your day,

Meant To Bee

MFT Stamps

February 16, 2019

Happy Saturday Friends! I am sharing a card today for the MFT Stamps: Sketch Challenge. As soon as I saw the sketch on Wednesday I knew what I wanted to do...love when that happens!! I pulled out my Meant To Bee stamp set and got busy (as a bee). The bees were delivered to our almond orchard last week so it seemed even more fitting to use this fun stamp set!

I started my card my using the MFT Stamps Cloud Stencil for my background. I love this stencil and use it a lot! For my ink blending I used Distress Oxide Ink in Mermaid Lagoon. I spritzed my background with water and set it aside to dry.
Next, I stamped my images, colored with Copics, and die cut with the coordinating dies. Then, I used the MFT Stamps: Stitched Circle STAX to die cut my circles from my background (following the sketch).
For my grass, I used the Lawn Fawn: Meadow Border die. I attached this to my card and added a piece of white cardstock for my sentiment. Lastly, I attached my images to my card front with foam adhesive.

To finish my card, I mounted my card panel onto an Orange Fizz mat before attaching it to my A2 card base.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: MFT Stamps- Meant To Bee
Dies: MFT Stamps- Meant To Bee, Stitched Circle STAX, Lawn Fawn- Meadow Borders

Beautiful Blessings

MFT Stamps

February 15, 2019

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a Wonderful Valentine's Day!! I am on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today with a set of cards using lots of products from MFT Stamps. I am using the sentiments in the MFT Stamps: Beautiful Blessings Stamp Set and the MFT Stamps: Beautiful Blessings 2 Stamp Set. These sentiments are perfect for showing your love and support to your friends and family that might need a little bit of encouragement.

I started my card by die cutting the MFT Stamps: Heart Tree from my white cardstock panel. I then mounted a piece of pastel green cardstock behind my die cut tree for the leaves. Next, I mounted my card front onto my A2 pastel colored card bases. I used Gina K Design Connect Glue for all of my glueing. The liquid glue allowed me a little time to get everything lined up, had a great hold, and can get into small detailed areas. Then, I die cut my tree trunk and three hearts from the same Heart Tree Die. I inlaid these pieces back into my card fronts.

Lastly, I began to work on my sentiments. I cut a piece of white cardstock to 1 x 4 in and stamped my sentiment onto the strip. My sentiments are from the Beautiful Blessings and the Beautiful Blessings 2 stamp set. I then mounted my sentiment strip onto a coordinating 1.25 x 4 piece of cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today. I think they will come in handy when I need to send a card with a heartfelt message.

Enjoy your day,
Dana
