The Greetery

Hi friends! Today I am excited to be on The Greetery's blog sharing a birthday card. The April release included so many amazing new products and I couldn't wait to use the Takes the Cake set again!

I started my card by using the Takes the Cake die set to create my hombre cake. I die cut the base of the cake from white cardstock and then inlaid the "layers" back into the frame. Next, I used the accent pieces to add gold frosting to the top and bottom of the cake and to create my candles.

Once the base of my cake was finished I used the Takes the Cake Stand die to die cut my gold cake stand. I then mounted my cake onto my card panel that I ink blended with sea glass ink. I added a few splatters and set it aside to dry. Next, I used the Takes the Cake stamp set to create my florals and sentiment banner. I used the Takes the Cake Banner die and the Takes the Cake Floral Detail dies to cut everything out. Lastly, I attached the accent pieces to my cake to finish my card.

I just love the possibilities with this set! You can create simple and elegant cakes or elaborate and fully decorated cakes... the sky's the limit! Thanks for joining me today and I hope you enjoyed my card.

Enjoy your day,
