Piñata Party!

Pretty Pink Posh

January 12, 2018

Happy Saturday Friends!! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. We are getting new carpet next week, so we are doing some major organizing trying to make the chaos as smooth as possible. The furniture needs to come out of my craft room and all of the bedrooms...in other words, we will have a big mess for a few days. I keep telling myself, it will all be worth it in the end!

Today, I have a Festive Birthday Card using the new Pretty Pink Posh: Piñata Party Stamp Set. To begin my card I used Distress Ink. I added Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn ink to an acrylic block. Next, I misted the block with water and then turned it over onto a piece of watercolor paper. I let the block sit for a few moments before lifting it up. Sometimes, when you use this technique you might have some water that puddles around the edges. If this happens just dab it with a paper towel. You can also add more ink if the color is light, though I am typically happy with the results.

Once I had my background completed, I set it aside to dry. I then stamped the Piñata from the Piñata Party stamp set. I colored it with Copic markers and used the Piñata Party Coordinating Dies to cut it out.

Next, I stamped and die cut some of the confetti included in the Piñata Party stamp set. For my string, I pierced a hole in my watercolor panel and threaded a piece of baker's twine through the hole.

To finish my card, I stamped my sentiment in black ink. I then attached my piñata with foam adhesive. I adhered the confetti to my card and added some Party Jewels Mix for some added sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Have you bought anything from the New Release at Pretty Pink Posh Blog? There are some wonderful stamps, dies and confetti mixes!! I hope you get a chance to stop by the store and check them out!!

Enjoy your weekend,
Dana
