O Holy Night

Papertrey Ink

November 28, 2018

Hello crafty friends!! I am stopping by today to share a few cards I made with dark cardstock and gold embossing powder.  I had made a Thanksgiving card with this same technique a month or so ago, and I had been wanting to try it with a Christmas theme too.

I stamped my images from the Papertrey Ink Nativity Silhouettes with VersaMark ink. I added gold embossing powder and heat set the powder. Next, I stamped my sentiment from the O Holy Night stamp set. I once again added gold embossing powder and heat set it. I mounted my card panel on a piece of Papertrey Ink vellum and then attached it to an A2 card base.

My tag used the stamp set as my card. This time my sentiment also came from the Nativity Silhouettes stamp set. I cut my tag with the Papertrey Ink Tag Sale #7 die and layered it with a piece of vellum. I added some pinefeather ribbon and two bells from the craft store.

I really love the gold embossing on the dark pinefeather cardstock. The images from the Nativity Silhouettes stamp set were also perfect for embossing.
I did make a second card using the Peaceful Pinecones stamp set. I used the same technique as above though this time I used a dark cranberry cardstock.

I hope I inspired you to give embossing a try. The gold on the dark cardstock really does have an elegant look to it.
