You Are Loved

February 9, 2019

Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is off to a great start!! I am stopping by today to share a couple of Valentine or Love cards with you. I am using a Die today from Simon Says Stamp, it is called Heart Alive. I got it on sale last year after Valentine's Day. Although it is a heart themed die, I think it would be perfect for anytime of the year!
I am also linking my cards to a New To Me Challenge, Pixie's Crafty Workshop. The owner of the challenge reached out to me about some Christmas cards I made using this same technique. She was so kind and full of life, I couldn't wait to give her challenge a try!! Please stop by her blog and play along.

I started my cards by glueing 1/4 in strips of paper onto a thin piece of copy paper. I glued them down with liquid glue and in rainbow order. I wanted the whole strip to stick so I thought liquid glue would be the easiest and quickest.

Once the strips were attached, I used the Simon Says Stamp die to cut out the heart pieces from the rainbow panel.

Next, I used the same die and die cut the heart pieces from my card panel (card front). I used the MFT Stamps: More Essentials Sentiments to stamp my sentiment. This is a great set that covers a lot of different occasions, definitely worth checking out if you do not own it.

Lastly, I inlaid the rainbow pieces back into my card front. This went rather quickly because the strips were all glued together.  I was really happy how this card turned out! I will defiantly be making more and just changing the sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamp Set: MFT Stamps- More Essential Sentiments
Dies: Simon Says Stamp- Hearts Alive
Paper: PTI Cardstock

We are off to a Georgetown Basketball game today and then to a fun dinner with our daughter and her roommates/friends.

Enjoy your day,
Dana

  1. What fabulous cards Dana and a perfect way to use up snippets. Such vivid colours as well. I love that you do step by steps with photos - it always makes things much clearer when you have two left hands like me. And thank you so much for coming to play with us in the Snippets Playground - remember to wipe the slide down first, it's been raining here in Hampshire, UK, and you could end up with damp dungarees!

    Hugs

  5. Love your cards, Dana! It's lovely to find you through Di who gushed about your beautiful Christmas tree cards using this same technique. I had to come and see and I agree with her that that die is a "must have!" You should get a commission from MFT for all the dies you sell with your inspiration designs! I love how you show us your steps! I'm happy to be your newest follower and I'd love to have you visit and follow me, too! Hugs, Darnell
