Congrats to the Graduate

Good Morning Friends! A little update from me: We are back this morning from a trip to Portugal. I knew I would be tired and readjusting to the time change so I had gotten a few blog posts ready before we left. We will be leaving again on Monday to go to DC for Meredith's graduation from Georgetown. So excited for her and this next chapter in her life...she will be staying in DC and working so we will also be helping her move out of Georgetown and into a new part of the city. Such an exciting time for us all!

So today, I am sharing a Graduation card- it seemed fitting and something I will be needing.

I started my card by creating my background. I used the new Graduation Stencil. Have you tried any of the new stencils from this release? I love them and I was so happy to see them included with the release. I added Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste with a palette knife to my card cardstock. When you first put it on it is white:

It dries clear and shiny:

While my background was drying I began working on my card details. I started by stamping the images from the Congrats Grad Stamp Set and coloring them with Copic markers. Next, I used the Congrats Grad Coordinating Dies to die cut my images. I also die cut the Congrats Script Die from a shiny silver cardstock for my sentiment.

To finish my card, I mounted the Congrats word die to a strip of cardstock and added my colored images to my card front. I attached my stenciled background to a silver cardstock mat and attached everything to my A2 card base.

Supplies:

I hope you  find some time to be creative today.
Enjoy your day,
Dana
