Ink To Paper

New Release: Countdown Day 3

February 18, 2021

Hi friends and welcome back. I hope you all are doing well and having a great week. I am back today with Day 3 of the countdown for Ink To Paper. Today we are showcasing another beautiful floral set, a must have die and a feathered friend. As always, you can find all of the product details on the Ink To Paper Blog

For my first card, I am using the new Framed in Florals Set. This set includes the floral outline plus all of the smaller stamps to fill in and add color. You can also choose to not use the filler stamps and either use markers or watercolor to add color to your borders. Lots of possibilities with this set.

I chose to use all of the smaller stamps to fill in and make my borders. The set has kind of a "sketchy" feel and is very easy to line up. Don't you just love the sentiment? I stamped it on a white strip of cardstock and attached the top and bottom portion of the frame to the strip.

To finish my card I ink blended a card panel with Hawaiian Shores ink. I then added a white frame that I had die cut with the Border Bling: Skinny Heart Frame Die

My second card uses the new Feathered Friends #8 Set. I love the size and shape of this bird... and it includes a branch for the birder to perch on. I stamped my bird in Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise and Soft Stone ink.

For my card panel, I used the Border Bling: Tin Stitch Die. I ink blended Hawaiian Shores ink onto the panel and attached it to my A2 card base. Next, I die cut the Love To Layer: Notched Charming Die from white cardstock and attached that to the middle of my panel. I then used the XO Heart Frame Die to create my wreath.

Once I attached my bird and branch to my card panel I added a few flowers that I had stamped with the Sweet Hoppiness Set (from day 1). Lastly, I added my sentiment. The sentiment is from a set being shown tomorrow.

My next card uses the Feather Friends Mini Set again. This time I stamped my bird in Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, and Soft Stone ink. I then attached it to a circle that had been die cut with the Love To Layer: Scalloped Circle Die

For my card panel, I used the new Cover Plate: Vines. I ink blended a panel with New Leaf ink and ran it through my die cutting machine to create my vines. Once my vines were attached to my card panel I added my feathered friend to the center. This is such a versatile die and definitely one that I will reach for often.

Are you still with me? I have one more card to share with you today...

For my last card today I once again used the new Cover Plate: Vines. I created a tone on tone card panel with white cardstock. I liked the clean and fresh look of all the white. Initially I had though I would use a New Leaf panel but in the end I went with white on white.

Next, I used the Tiny Blooms Set (previewed on day 1) to stamp my small flowers. I then stamped my sentiment with the Just Sentiments: Bloom set onto a piece of kraft cardstock. Lastly, I attached my flowers to my panel with liquid glue.

That is all for today but I will be back tomorrow with day 4 of the countdown.

Enjoy your day,

  3. Love your cards, Dana! Just wondering how hard it is to line up the parts of the bird? Thanks, Greta sghess4451 at comcast dot net.

    1. Thank you Greta! I used a MISTI to line up the bird and it was very easy and forgiving. I started with the head and tail (which is one stamp) and then I filled in the body and wing. It is one of my favorite birds, such a great size and I love how it is "chubby", so sweet!
