Ink To Paper

New Release Countdown: Day 1

April 11, 2021

Good morning friends and welcome to day 1 of the new release countdown for Ink To Paper. This release is packed full of fun new supplies! There is a nautical set, lots of sets for Father's Day, Mother's Day, florals, feathered friends and more.

I had a little "hiccup" with my release package. It was destroyed by the postal service and my envelope arrived to me empty... absolutely nothing in it! I was so upset but Julie quickly sent me another package and it arrived a few days ago. So to say the least I have been scrambling to get my projects made. We will be out of town for a week (we left yesterday) so time was definitely not on my side. Please let me know if you have any questions though and I will answer them as soon as I can.

My first card uses the new Seas of Life Stamp and Die Set. I love all things nautical and this set is perfect!

I started my card by stamping all of my images with the Seas of Life Set. This set includes a sailboat, anchor, wheel, ocean or water, birds, a sun and some really great sentiments. I love the size of the images too. For my background I used the new Weaved Background Stamp Set. I stamped my background in Soft Stone ink and then layered all of my images onto my panel to create my scene. My sentiment is also from the Seas of Life Stamp Set. I stamped my sentiment in VersaMark ink and heat set it with white embossing powder.

Colors Used: Soft Stone, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy and True Black

I always struggle with masculine cards and I know I will be reaching for this set often.

My next card uses the new Feathered Friends Mini #10 Stamp and Die Set. I stamped my bird in fun bright colors and then began working on my card design.

For my card layout I used the Border Bling: Postage Frame Die. I ink blended the frame with Hawaiian Shores ink and attached it to my card base. I then used the Into The Blooms Die Set to create my flowers. I lightly ink blended my flowers and leaves with Hibiscus Burst, Lemon Tart and Green Parakeet ink. I attached my flowers to my card panel with foam adhesive and tucked my Feathered Friend in behind the flowers. Next, I stamped my sentiment (from the Feathered Friends Set) onto a banner. Lastly, I added a few sequins as a final touch.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope you liked my projects and I will be back tomorrow with Day 2 of the countdown.

Enjoy your day,

  1. Oh my...I would have freaked at getting an empty package! I had one package last year that had a big tear in it but nothing fell out. You did an amazing job of creating so many beautiful projects in such a short time! Enjoy your week away (assume both of your girls are still "home" and with you).

    1. Thank you so much Wanda! Yes...to say the least I was a little stressed. Actually my husband and I “snuck away” for a little vacation. Both girls are back to their “home” for school and work. Have a great week and I am loving your projects for the release!!

  2. What an amazing post! Dana, your cards are awesome, I mean that! I love everything nautical myself. I’m not just amazed at your designs but how fast you pulled them together. I’m not sure what goes on with the postal system, I’ve had some recent issues myself. But your “hiccup” ( I’d call it a full burp!) just shows how talented you are. Enjoy your week, I hope you’re having a lot of well deserved fun! 😊

    1. Thank you so much Stephanie! Your kind words mean a lot!! It was definitely a “burp” :) I couldn’t believe it. My husband and I were able to sneak away to one of our favorite vacation spots for a few days... so nice to get away and feel a little “normal”. Have a wonderful week!!
