Papertrey Ink: Blog Hop

Good Morning!! I hope you all are having a Wonderful day!! Today is a fun day at Papertrey Ink, it is their monthly Blog Hop. There are always so many great projects shared and lots of inspiration to be found. Stop by and have a look, you won't be disappointed!!

I began my card by focusing on the chalkboard. To be honest, I struggled with this and made lots of card fronts that ended up in the trash. Even on my finished card I wasn't completely happy with my embossing. My embossing wasn't clean, or if it was the chalk board "look" became messy.  I watched numerous videos, I even went and bought new embossing powder- definitely a technique I need to practice. 

I started my card by cutting a piece of black cardstock with the Scallop Stackers Die. Then, I used my misti and stamped my images (sentiment from New Every Morning and branches from Autumn Pumpkins) with Versamark ink and embossed them with white embossing powder. Next, I used PTI: Fresh Snow ink and off set my stamping a little bit to give a shadow and help it look more realistic. Then, I took the Fresh Snow ink and smeared it around the edges and my sentiment to give the look of chalk dust. Finally, I took a white colored pencil and a ruler and outlined my center rectangle.

Once I had my chalkboard complete I used the outer edge of the stacker die and cut it from Ocean Tides cardstock. I mounted my two front panels together and attached them to a piece of Americana cardstock cut a little smaller than an A2 card. Next, I began my stamping... I used lots of sets for this part. The wheat is from the Give Thanks stamp set, the leaves and acorn are from the Autumn Acorns set, and the pumpkin is from the Autumn Pumpkins stamp set. Finally, I attached my stamped images to the bottom of my card front and attached everything to an A2 Kraft card base.
