Stitching Dies

Stitching Dies

September 5, 2018
I am able to travel sometimes with my husband. And I have to admit, I was so happy when I found the perfect little take-along craft.
MFT Stamps sells both a Cross Stitch Tag Die and a Cross Stitch Rectangle Die that is perfect for a card front. I found a little pair of scissors that are TSA approved. They are actually from the manicure and nail department at CVS, but if they are smaller than four inches you are good to go.
So when it is time to go on a little trip I pack a small craft bag with the supplies I need. I cut my tags and card fronts ahead of time so I have plenty available. You can print all kinds of patterns from the MFT Resource Page on their Website. Basically, all you need are the Cross Stitch die cut papers, patterns from MFT Stamps, DMC Embroidery Floss, scissors, and a few needles. Not much at all, my little bag of supplies fits perfectly in my carry on.
We are going on a little road trip this week so I went ahead and bought some Fall colors of floss to do a little stitching while riding in the car. These Fall colors make me Happy!

Supplies:
Dies: MFT Stamps Cross-Stitch Rectangle and Tag
Other: Small Scissors, needles, and DMC Embroidery Floss

I hope I inspired you to give cross-stitch a little try,
Dana

  2. These are great tags...love the designs. I also have this same MFT tag but have difficulty getting it to cut all the way through. Do you use a metal shim and if so what kind do you recommend. jeandonny2000 at hotmail dot com

    1. Thank You!! Yes, I use a metal shim from Papertrey Ink and run it back and forth a few times. New cutting plates also help. I mostly use a Gemini electric cutter for the intricate dies though. It works the best...I was so frustrated with things not cutting all the way through that I asked for one for Christmas last year. I don't use a lot but when I do it works great and I am not wasting so much paper. Good Luck! I definitely know how frustrating it is when things don't cut correctly.

  4. The MFT page is no longer available! Do you know of other sources of patterns that can be printed! I love all your stitching! I am just starting with “paper” stitching!
