Cross Stitching

Merry Christmas!

December 23, 2018

Happy Sunday Friends! I hope you are enjoying your weekend and not out fighting the crowds...unless of course that is something you enjoy. Today we are taking it easy, last night was our annual Christmas party- Lots of good friends, laughs and of course good food! I do need to get to the grocery store today so I can get the produce I need for Christmas morning breakfast and Christmas dinner. I am hoping no one needs to eat between now and then :)

Last month, we went to the Cayman Islands and while we were on our flight I created a few Christmas Cross Stitch backgrounds for some cards. I have said this before, but I really enjoy taking along a few cross stitch backgrounds when we are traveling. It doesn't require a lot of supplies and it is something relaxing to do while I am sitting and waiting.

I used the cross stitch background die from MFT Stamps. Once my panels were completed I used the Hello Bluebird: Gallery Frame Die #2 for my frame border. This die is perfect to frame the cross stitch panel and cover up the edges.

I mounted my sentiments on a piece of vellum. I have found that this helps "anchor" them, otherwise they tend to get lost in the stitching. My sentiments are from the Papertrey Ink: Jingle All Way stamp and die set.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today. Do you enjoy taking along a craft while you are traveling?

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Papertrey Ink- Jingle All The Way
Dies: PTI- Jingle All The Way, MFT Stamps- Cross Stitch Background, Stitched Circle STAX, Sentiment Label Strip, Hello Bluebird- Gallery Frame Die #2
Paper: PTI
Other: DMC Floss

Thank you for stopping by.
Enjoy your day,
Dana

  1. These are beautiful! I love cross stitching and have all the dies, but I keep working on bigger projects and not cards. I need to fix that soon! Love the designs. I've taken regular projects while traveling. I even tried doing the adult coloring on a plane like Kathy Racoosin, but that was hard for me. I am a relatively new follower on your blog and media and am enjoying your content very much . Thank you SO much for sharing. Merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you so much Daria. I’m glad you like them and your comment reminded me that it has been a while since I stitched on a card panel...I might need to get this back out ❤️
