Papertrey Ink

Merry & Bright

December 7, 2018

Today, I have a card for the Papertrey Ink: Make it Monday challenge. This week, Melissa Phillips showed us how to "Deck Your Dies." Melissa is the "queen of layers" and every little detail is just perfect on her cards. Her cards are truly a work of art. I tried to incorporate a few of her ideas into my card design...

I started out by using the Papertrey Ink: Winter Window stamp and die set. I began by die cutting the window frame in Soft Stone polka dot patterned paper. Next, I ink blended some distress ink onto the window panel for my background. Then, I die cut and stamped all of my images. Once I had my tree stamped, I added some white embossing powder for the snow. For my sentiment, I used the Papertrey Ink: Jingle All The Way stamp and die set. I die cut the word Merry from Pure Poppy patterned paper and then stamped the rest of the sentiment (& bright) onto my card front.

Originally, I had stenciled some snowflakes onto my card front...it was too busy in my opinion. How does Melissa do it? Anyways, I ended up keeping my card front a little simpler and just added a Simply Chartreuse and Pure Poppy border to the left side of my card.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Papertrey Ink- Winter Window, Jingle All the Way
Dies: PTI- Winter Window, Jingle All the Way
Paper: PTI

Happy Friday,
Dana

  1. What a terrific card Dana! The Pure Poppy pattern paper is perfect for your word die. Love the candle and bow and evergreen sprigs as an accent on your window. Well done you! Cheers.
